We're incredibly honored to share that this week, Sunset Lake Cannabis was featured in two major publications for our regenerative farming practices!

Seven Days, one of Vermont's most trusted voices on local culture and business, highlighted how our South Hero farm keeps it green by growing exclusively outdoors. Meanwhile, High Times Magazine, one of the longest-running and most respected names in cannabis journalism, covered our commitment to living soil within the broader conversation about federal support for sustainable farming.

For us, this isn't new territory: It's who we have been from the beginning. With deep roots in dairy and hemp farming, Sunset Lake Cannabis applies generations of Vermont farming wisdom to our cannabis cultivation. And regenerative farming isn't just a buzzword for us. We've been third-party verified and have earned Sun+Earth Certification, an industry standard for organic sungrown cannabis farming.

Seven Days focused on our sungrown cultivation approach and how we leverage Vermont's natural climate instead of costly indoor lighting. The story also noted our role in the local ecosystem, including supporting fellow Champlain Islands cannabis growers at our own dispensary, Lake Effect Vermont.

High Times Magazine placed our work in a wider policy conversation about federal soil health funding. While programs exist for conventional crops like corn and soy, cannabis farmers remain excluded despite demonstrating that sungrown methods work at scale. They also interviewed the team at Sun+Earth, providing a broad view of how sustainability extends beyond just the fields.

We're grateful to our community here in South Hero, Grand Isle County, and all across the Green Mountain State for supporting local sungrown, sustainably cultivated cannabis. Whether you're picking up a jar of our award-winning Jelly Donutz flower at Lake Effect Vermont, picking up a Raspberry Parfait vape cartridge from a dispensary in the Burlington area, or enjoying a BTV Blunt from your favorite pot shop in Southern Vermont, you're voting with your dollars for a different kind of cannabis industry: one that supports the environment, the workers, and the community.
