Hash Temple Balls
Our Hash Temple Balls start with our sungrown Vermont cannabis.
From our 2024 crop we made Hash Temple Balls using two cultivars selected specifically for hash production: Guava and Honey Banana. See below for notes on each.
We recommend storing your hash temple balls in the fridge. This will help retain the delicate terpenes and also keep the hash pliable.

Guava is a cross of Gelato and GSC (Girl Scout Cookies) and a 50/50 Hybrid strain that provides a uplifting & balanced experience. You’ll have the energy and focus to explore artistic endeavors and get some projects done while still keeping your feet on the ground.

Hash Temple Balls 101
What are hash temple balls?
Hash temple balls are a premium form of traditional hashish. Originating in regions like Nepal, India, and Afghanistan, hash balls are carefully crafted by collecting and compressing trichome-rich resin from cannabis flower. Known for their shiny, sticky texture and high THC potency, temple balls are prized among cannabis concentrate enthusiasts for their purity and rich flavor & aroma. This classic form of hashish has deep roots in spiritual and cultural rituals, making it both a historical and high-quality cannabis product.
How are Sunset Lake Cannabis hash temple balls made?
Our temple balls are made with cannabis resin from solventless ice water hash extraction—a clean, chemical-free method of collecting trichome-rich resin from cannabis flower. ***** ADD MORE******
Ice water hash, commonly known as bubble hash, is a high-quality solventless cannabis concentrate made by agitating cannabis flower in ice-cold water to separate the trichomes. The cold water makes the trichomes more brittle and they fall off the cannabis flower with gentle agitation in the wash basin. These trichomes, which contain the plant’s cannabinoids and terpenes, are then collected through fine mesh bags (often called “bubble bags”) and dried into a crumbly or sticky resin. You can then turn the ice water hash into finished bubble hash or press it into temple balls. As a pure, solventless hash, ice water hash is a favorite among cannabis connoisseurs seeking full-spectrum effects and rich terpene profiles.

How do I use hash temple balls?
If you're new to cannabis concentrates, learning how to use hash temple balls is a great starting point. These traditional, solventless hash balls can be gently broken apart and added to joints, bowls, or enjoyed by itself in special pipes or vaporizers. You can pull off a small piece of hash and roll it out with your fingers to make a ‘thread’ to add to the center of joints. You can also roll a small ball of hash and then flatten it into a circle to top a bowl. Adding hashish on top of cannabis flower will boost potency and flavor for a more robust experience.
For a smoother experience, some users vaporize hash by itself using a three-hole hash pipe or a vaporizer with special fittings for cannabis concentrates. You can use a dab rig at low temperatures, but be careful not to scorch the hash! Many pipe shops in Vermont sell hash pipes and would be happy to show you how to use one. For a non-electronic vaporizer, we really like the Vapman. (Be sure to get the concentrates screen.) Some electronic vaporizers offer a concentrates setting. Refer to the user manual for how to enjoy your hashish in an electronic vaporizer.
Since hash temple balls are a potent form of cannabis concentrate, beginners should start with a small amount and gradually adjust.
How should I store my hash temple ball?
Our hash temple balls are made with high-quality, full-spectrum ice water hash which retains a high terpene content. Terpenes are highly volatile, meaning they want to evaporate. To preserve the best flavor and experience, we recommend keeping your temple balls in the refrigerator. If you store your hash temple balls in a cool, dark place, they will retain THC potency but may lose terpene potency quickly. Refrigeration also keeps them pliable, making it easier to work with your fingers. If you store them at room temp, you can expect the temple ball to dry out and become more brittle, which some people prefer as it makes it easier to crumble for adding to joints or topping bowls.
